About the Event
Everyone could use some practice making improvised speeches, even cyborgs. This is why UAlberta Toastmasters and the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Student Society have paired up to deliver a crossover meeting that will augment your reality! The theme of this meeting is futurology, defined as "the study of the future". We want to hear about your favourite year-3000 science fiction technology, whether or not you would want your consciousness uploaded to the Cloud, and what you really think about Facebook's recent renaming. No educational background is required. Watch two prepared speeches from the exec teams of the two clubs, and participate in a table discussion that will put you in the spotlight. Everyone is at a different place in their speaking journey, so this is a judgment-free zone for people to come out and practice! This event will be hybrid, meaning that it is your choice to attend via Zoom or in-person. Vaccinations are mandatory for in-person attendance, so be sure to bring your OneCard and your CampusReady pass.
